Build steps

  1. Mark the posts, two rows 7 ft apart with the posts every 54 in, and check square by measuring both diagonals. Dig each hole 18 in deep.
  2. Set the 4x4 posts plumb in gravel or concrete, with the tops 6 in taller at the front, and brace them.
  3. Screw the two beam boards over the post tops on each row, on edge.
  4. Cut the 8 rafters with plumb cuts at 6.8° on both ends and set them on the beams, 24 in on center.
  5. Screw on the roof deck and then the 8 metal panels, lapping one rib.
  6. Build the counter: four 2x4 legs, rails on edge and a 3/4 in plywood top, 36 in high, in the back. Build the burner stand 24 in high at one end, with a plywood top, and cover it with a cement board.
  7. Pave or gravel the floor and keep it away from grass. Run a hose to the pavilion.
