Build steps
Cut four legs, the rails and the plywood top and shelf. Screw the top and low rails between the legs to make two frames, then join them with the end rails.
Cut a 10 in hole in the middle of the top with a jigsaw, and screw the top on. Seal it with two coats of exterior paint, so it wipes clean.
Screw the lower shelf onto its rails. Set a bucket on it under the extractor's honey gate.
Bolt the extractor's three legs to the top, or clamp them, and run it for a minute to check it does not walk.
Before you start
A 2-frame hand-crank extractor on a 28 in stand lets you work standing and put a bucket under the gate. The weight is 40 lb empty, 80 full.
Seal the top: honey and wax stick to bare wood. Use food-safe paint or a clear polyurethane.
Extract indoors or in a screened shed so the bees do not rob you. The extractor itself is not in the list.
Draft drawings generated from the model. Build one before selling this plan. Bee equipment sizes follow the common Langstroth standard; check them against your supplier's frames before cutting.
