Build steps

  1. Level a strip the width of the greenhouse plus 2 ft and check it drains. Lay out the footprint with string and check both diagonals for square.
  2. Build the base from ground-contact 2x6s on edge: two 142 in rails and the front, back and middle cross pieces between them. Level it and drive a T-post at each corner against the outside of the rails.
  3. Bend each of the 3 cattle panels into a hoop 84 in across and 78 in tall at the crown and screw its feet to the outside of the rails with fender washers. Space them evenly so they overlap by 4 in and wire them together.
  4. Cut the end walls from the sheet layouts. Screw each to the end hoop and the base. Keep the door cutout in the front and re-hang it.
  5. Frame the door opening with a stud each side and a header laid flat. Brace the door cutout with two battens and hang it on strap hinges with a hasp.
  6. Staple hardware cloth over the vent opening in the back end from the inside and hang the vent cutout as a flap.
  7. Pull the 20 ft wide film over the hoops, centered, and fasten it down each side with a wiggle-wire channel or a 1x2 batten screwed to the rail, then cut the ends to the hoop.
