Build steps

  1. Cut the three stringers from 2x6 ground-contact boards, with a plumb cut at both ends at the slope, from the cutting diagram.
  2. Lay the stringers on edge on the ground, 36 in apart outside to outside, and square the frame.
  3. Screw the 2x6 decking across the stringers, flat, 1.5 in apart, from the low end up. Two screws per plank per stringer.
  4. Screw a 2x4 side board on edge to each outer stringer face to keep pigs from stepping off.
  5. Rest the top on the truck bed or trailer floor, and chock or chain it.
