Build steps

  1. Set the nine skids on a level bed of gravel or concrete blocks, in three rows 59 in apart, and check square by measuring both diagonals.
  2. Screw the two floor rim boards, in two lengths each, to the ends of the 119 in joists, on edge, then lay the joists across the skids every 16 in. Screw blocking between them under the long plywood seams.
  3. Cut the 3/4 in plywood floor from the sheet layouts and screw it down every 6 in, with the joints on joists or blocking.
  4. Frame the four walls flat on the floor, with plates and studs 24 in on center, a header over the double door and gable studs above the front and back top plates. Stand and screw them together.
  5. Cut the rafters with plumb cuts at the pitch, set them on the walls on both sides of the ridge board, and screw a 2x4 tie across the top plates at every second rafter pair.
  6. Screw on the roof deck in pieces joined on rafters, and then the 16 metal panels, lapping one rib.
  7. Cut the siding from the sheet layouts and screw it on every 6 in, with the joints on studs. Keep the door cutout, brace it with two battens and hang it on strap hinges.
  8. Add a ridge cap and trim, and a gravel apron at the door.
