Build steps
Cut the two bottom boards and two sides to 72 in from the cutting diagram, and the 4x4 skids.
Screw the two bottom boards edge to edge across the two skids, flat, with two screws per skid.
Screw a side on edge to each outer edge of the bottom boards, every 8 in.
Screw the two plywood ends inside, flush with the board ends.
Screw the two 2x4 dividers flat across the side tops, at 24 and 48 in, so each pair of pigs has its own space and cannot stand in it.
Before you start
A 6 ft trough serves six grower pigs at 12 in each. Pigs shove: the 4x4 skids keep it from tipping and the dividers keep them out.
Use ground-contact lumber: feed and slop rot normal boards in a season. Check the screws every month.
Set it on level gravel so water drains away, against a fence so you can fill it from outside.
