Build steps
Cut two 12 in brackets from a 2x4 and drill each with a 7/8 in hole for the axle, 1 in from the end.
Bolt each bracket under the base rail at the back of the tractor, flat, with two carriage bolts.
Slide the conduit through the brackets and a wheel on each end, with a washer and a cotter pin each side.
Lift the front by its rope or handle, and the tractor rolls on the wheels at the back. Lower it to rest on the base.
Before you start
The wheels are at the back: lift the front by the handle and roll it forward 10 ft a day. No dragging, no wear on the base.
10 in wheels with a 3/4 in bore are sold in pairs. They carry 100 lb each, enough for a 10-bird tractor; for the 25-bird tractor use 12 in pneumatic wheels.
Do not leave the wheels on when the tractor is parked in a wind: take the cotter pins out, and drop the tractor to the ground.
